1MORE MK801 Over-Ear Headphones with In-line Microphone and Remote Review

1MORE MK801 Over-Ear Headphones with In-line Microphone and Remote Review

With headphones, many customers select individual designs and styles from different companies for different reasons. 1MORE has created an ergonomic lightweight set with very a clear and crisp sound. Though it is not a noise-canceling headset, it is more than adequate and extremely comfortable for everyday work purposes, perfect for those long conference calls that last hours or if you just want to jam out at your desk. As a plus, it’s decently priced at $79.99 compared to other quality headphone sets.

Design

Elegant and stylish, the red color adds a bold flare and touch of interest no matter what you’re wearing. No need to worry about clashing. The adjustable ear pieces slide up and down smoothly for a pretty comfortable fit, and the ear cups indeed rotate in 4 directions. Only potential con is if you have large ears; these fit exactly over mine. The headband is made from titanium steel, and though I didn’t try to bend it to test it’s strength, it has a sturdy design and a very lightweight feel. It doesn’t weigh your head down at all! In addition, the small pads on the inner side of the headband lets it rest easy on your head without pinching. All in all, this set is designed for a great ergonomic fit, and that definitely comes through from the moment you put it on.

Ease of Use

It’s very simple and intuitive to use. Just plug it in and go! Functions on the remote are very straightforward with easy to understand diagrams and labels. Only part that I didn’t like was the 3 clicks needed to return to the previous track for music; the remote often registered it as just two clicks, and advanced to the next track instead of going back.

Sound

You can definitely hear the high-quality playback, as expected from a device tuned by a Grammy Award winning mixer. It works great for audio, sound editing and music playback. Very clear bass and sound differentiation compared to many headphone and earbud devices. During phone calls, quality comes through with very crisp sounds, with less crackle than usual compared to my usual poor reception. Though it seems to perhaps pick up slightly too much details on the other end, as I could hear background noises more clearly. This can be a pro or con, depending on the customer. Volume control outside of the normal volume range on the phone is also available. I was able to turn up the volume for a much higher sound during phone calls. No more struggling to hear what the other person’s saying!

The microphone works great; it picks up on your voice well, even if it’s not right next to your mouth. You don’t have to worry about the positioning of the device. Sound and volume quality on the other end of the line is also clear, though not as much difference was noted between using the headset and just using the phone’s speaker.

Function

Great for the phone! If you’re at work and want to plug in your phone for music and calls, simply plug it in and put on your headphones. Very clear sound on both receiver and caller ends. With its ergonomic fit, these are perfect for long conference calls at work! Word of caution though, it’s still bad idea to wear these while driving. While these headphones don’t completely block out sound—I could still hear the TV from the living room through a closed door—it is still unsafe to wear these if you need your ears for something else too. In addition, the remote function (microphone, volume, music track control) doesn’t work with the computer (Windows 10), so make sure your keyboard—or mouse—functions for the volume controls!
